Southwell Theatre Club are looking for new members
Press Release:
4 February 2022

After being unable to put on live shows for the last two years, it was a joy to get back on stage at last with "Dickens’ Christmas Voices" in December. During the lockdowns club members learned a host of new skills by taking on the challenge of audio performance and put together three audio plays.  They are still available to listen to for free at www.soundcloud.com (just search Southwell Theatre Club to download/listen). But now, we are keen to return to the stage and are looking for new members to get involved.
We have three productions planned for the 2022 season.  First will be David Tristram’s comedy "The Opposite Sex", running from 12-14th May.  It's a fun-filled, laugh out loud comedy that we hope will open the season with a smile.  Then, in October, two of Anton Chekov’s humorous short plays "The Proposal" and "The Bear" are to be performed.  Following closely on its heels will be the club's popular annual murder mystery, which this year takes the form of a short panto! We have the big box of costumes ready, including a magician's costume and a pantomime horse! Â
If you've ever thought about trying your hand at acting then this could be the perfect time to take your first steps out into the limelight.
