About
Southwell Theatre Club
Southwell Theatre Club is a lively amateur dramatics group based in the small cathedral town of Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Our patron is Southwell born actor, playwright and screenwriter William (Billy) Ivory.
We are passionate about presenting high quality amateur theatre for our local community. We aim to do three to four productions a year, including plays of all types, readings and murder mysteries. In the past we have enjoyed performing poetry readings at Southwell Poetry Festival and Southwell Folk Festival. We are always open to opportunities to get involved with community events and activities, and you can find us most years at the Southwell Family Fun Day on the Burgage.

Being a relatively small club we do our best to present our audiences with a vareity of shows from across a range of genres, eras and styles. We've done everything from Edwardian melodrama to contemporary farce. The key for us is being able to tailor our production choices to those that best suit the demographics of our membership and the nature of our venue.

Our Christmas performances are usually centred on our annual murder mystery. It's always a fun evening, with the audience joining forces to try and work out whodunnit.
New members are always welcome! Whether you want to act, direct, write or just help backstage or front of house, we'd love to hear from you.
