Southwell Theatre Club's autumn production
Press Release:
24 September 2023
Southwell Theatre Club’s production of “Forget-Me Knot” by David Tristram comes to Southwell
Library on Thursday 12th - Saturday 14th October. It tells the tale of a man found wandering the
streets early one morning and the efforts that the police have to go to in order to find out who he is
and what he was actually doing there. He gives a good impression of having amnesia. But does he
really? Is he hiding something? Or is there something that he simply doesn’t want to remember?
The police inspector gets more and more frustrated with him, until finally something has to give.
Our audience won’t be unfamiliar with David Tristram’s work - we’ve done several of his Little
Grimley pieces, and last year we had a ball doing “The Opposite Sex”. Directed by Ann Tyler, we’ve
had some real laughs along the way with this one as well (and a few frustrations!) and we hope you’ll
join us to find out whether the man found wandering the streets is actually who he doesn’t know he
is, or not!
We are also heading rapidly towards our annual murder mystery in December. Written by Janet
Smith, and directed by Pat Munro, “Robin Hoodie & his Merry People” tells a tale of Robin Hood that
we are betting you’ve never thought of before! The cast - sorry, the outlaws - are standing by, ready
to leap into rehearsals as soon as “Forget-Me Knot” closes. But you’ll have to join us for the show to
see if our panto horse is going to make another show-stealing appearance!
