'The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley' in Southwell
Press Release:
25 March 2019

Southwell Theatre Club’s 2019 season is all about comedy as we’ll be bringing to you a trio of David Tristram productions. Tristram is well known for his contemporary and topical comedies, which always manage to tickle an audience’s funny bone.
In May, we return to Little Grimley with ‘The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley’. This one act comedy, the third in the Little Grimley series, finds Gordon, Margaret, Joyce and Bernard back to tackle yet another threat to their survival; this time in the shape of a rival am-dram group determined to upstage them. The gloves come off, and they will go to any lengths to preserve their core (more of a pip really) audience. Things are looking grim in Little Grimley, but it’s never over until The Fat Lady Sings.
The evening opens with the sketch ‘Coffee Break’ which sees old school friends Charlotte and Lucy bumping into each other at Luigi’s Coffee Shop, having not seen each other for years. Lives have moved on and it’s time for a catch up.
Performances run from Thursday 2nd May until Saturday 4th May at 7.30pm. Venue Southwell Library, King Street. Tickets £9 each, available from Southwell Library (01636 812148) or email southwelltheatreclub@gmail.com Doors open 7pm. Licensed bar available.
