Following October’s successful production of Noel Coward’s ‘Blithe Spirit’, Southwell Theatre Club have headed straight into rehearsals for their annual murder mystery panto. This year, ‘Happily Never After’, finds the Ugly Sisters running the ‘Oh Yes It Is’ retreat for down and out pantomime characters – oh yes they do!

Trouble starts when Goldilocks, serving her community sentence for stealing porridge, wishes for a happy ending to her story. Visited by Fairy Godmother, she has her wish granted, although it’s somewhat off the mark. But when Goldilocks starts wishing for happy ever after endings for other characters too, the Wicked Witch of the West North West, is having none of it! Add Dick Twittington, Velcro, Prince the Pantomime Horse, a chest full of pirate treasure, and you have a recipe for mayhem, murder, and happily never after!

And of course, the audience will have their chance to turn detective, interrogating the suspects to try and work out whodunnit.
